Fave Five Beauty Products- April

Fave Five Beauty Products- April

Fave Five Beauty Products- April by jelobo2 featuring lips makeup

  1. Sugarpill Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadow in Velocity:  This only came in the mail yesterday, and I have only had one opportunity to play with it, but I am in love with it.  I love that is actually looks that vibrant on me.  Being of a darker complexion most colors don't look the way I want them to on me.  Thank God this is very pigmented, I would have been really sad if it wasn't because I love it so much!
  2. Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel:  My skin right now is a mess.  I know your skin changes every 7 years, but geez.  By mid day I am a shiny mess.  This lightweight gel keeps the oil under control.  I have only used it twice (it is a recent find), but the difference so far is amazing.
  3. Revlon ColorBurst™ Matte Balin Complex:  I love matte lipstick.... and though I love my nude Lip Tar in Interlace from OCC, I don't like it matte (on me anyway, I always top it off with my Buxom Lipgloss in Samantha).  On a whim I decided to just grab this and I am sure glad I did.  It is a great color and because it is a balm it still keeps my lips moist while giving it the matte look that I love.
  4. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Gash:  I am so excited this color is back!  This is the only item on my list that I don't own, but I will be getting soon.  I have only recently started wearing lipstick, but I always admired it on other people.  I saw this color on Gwen Stefani and thought it was fantastic.
  5. Ardell Curvy False Lashes in 413:  Before my obsession with lipstick my makeup obsession was mascara/lashes (well I am still am).  I usually go with more natural looking lashes, but lately I have been changing things up and going for some more drama.  While walking around Ulta I saw that they had a BOGO on Ardell lashes and I saw these and had to try them.  They are really fun and make me feel like a pin up!

March Wish List

It's that time of year... time to put away the winter and get ready for spring.  That of course means COLOR!!!  I plan to do exactly just that.  Get some much needed color in my wardrobe.

March Wish List

  1. Furano by GX by Gwen Stefani for Shoedazzle:  OMG OMG OMG OMG... words can not explain how excited I am for this line.  I ADORE Gwen Stefani!  I am going to go broke because I basically want everything that is in the line for Shoedazzle.  This bag is bold and spunky and completely bad ass!
  2. Electric Palette by Urban Decay:  I have experimented with lipstick a lot, but not really eye shadow... I think it is time that I start!  I saw this palette from Urban Decay on Kandee Johnson's blog and it would be so much fun to play with.  It hasn't been released yet (Coming to stores in April or available March 18 online!).
  3. ASOS CURVE Cami in Check Print:  Even though I am trying to add some color in my life, I still love my black and white, I'll just pair it with some colorful skinny jeans!
  4. Riviera Burst Necklace:  The color combo is great and even though the colors are pastel I still feel like it would be great for the tropical vacation that I am so not taking anytime soon!
  5. Color Cascade Knee-Length Skirt:  Do I NEED another knee length skirt?  Probably not, but I sure want this one!  It is soo fun, plus how cute would it look with the neon yellow necklace on my February Wishlist??

MORE WISHLIST ITEMS:
  1.  Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in Velocity:  This gorgeous color is super pigmented.  I saw it on a makeup artist that I follow on instagram (@makeupshayla) and fell in love, but was too scared to try it.  I'm saying screw it and buying it soon!
  2. Emiko by GX by Gwen Stefani for Shoedazzle:  I wasn't kidding when I said I wanted like everything, but I will limit this wishlist to two items!  How fabulous are these?
  3.  City-Chic Faux Jacket from Forever 21:  I already own this jacket in burgundy and love it... then they came out with the grey... seriously considering buying the grey...
  4. Grazia Illusion Zip Front Dress from Simply Be:  This dress is gorgeous and hugs your curves perfectly.  Unfortunately the US Simply Be doesn't have it... I found it on their UK site...
  5. Studio Abstract Print Fit & Flare Dress from Eloquii:  This dress is a statement piece!
  6. TriBeCa Dress from Rue 107:  Do I really have to explain why I want this... it’s an amazing dress!
  7. Geo Print Peplum Skirt from Ashley Stewart:  Love the purple and orange together!
  8. Antiqued Sterling Silver Plated Medieval Cross Swords and Filigree Accented Ear Wires by Ghostlove: Man that is a mouth full, but I am really digging these earrings!

I Joined The Zombie Craze... Pretty Zombie Cosmetics Review

So, I joined the zombie craze... but instead of catching up on seasons of The Walking Dead or renting World War Z, I did it in a way that is true to myself.... LIPSTICK! :)

One night boredom took over me (as it so often does), so I explored Instagram.  I follow a lot of makeup artists and cosmetics companies.  I have found some great products off of exploring Instagram... I would have never have discovered AND fallen in love with Limecrime or Melt Cosmetics.  My newest discovery is Pretty Zombie Cosmetics that I found through Micheline Pitt.

I ADORE my liquid lipsticks from Limecrime and the fact that there are only three colors offered right now and I already own those three makes me sad.  I WANT MORE.  So when I saw that this company has liquid lipstick, I had to see what shades they offered!  I was pleasantly surprised that they offer seven shades.

I was immediately smitten with the two purple shades 3 Witches and Purple Poison.  I was also stoked about the price!  So the next Friday when I got paid, I bought the two and waited with uncontrollable anticipation for their arrival!

They arrived on Monday (OH HAPPY DAY!) and I couldn't wait to rip open the box and try them on!  I love the pinup zombie that they used for the packaging... I'm a pinup girl, so that shouldn't surprise you.  The colors are fabulously pigmented.  The website says 90 seconds to dry, but I think it took a little longer.  They stayed on very well, I barely had to retouch.  All in all I a pleased.  I got major complements when I wore them to work this week.  Especially the 3 Witches.  So if you feel a little adventurous, give them a try!

You can check out the Pretty Zombie Cometics website (linked above) or their Instagram.  I don't think they have a Facebook page, because I haven't found one...

On The Left: Purple Poison
On The Right: 3 Witches (my flash is kind of ridiculous, I think it looks a lot darker in person)

Tonight You're Perfect... Harlem USA Tour!!!

Last night I went to the New Politics concert in San Francisco and they do not disappoint!  It's hard to believe it is their first headlining tour because these boys know how to rock!

I first saw them when they opened up for Thirty Seconds to Mars in October of 2013.  I had heard a few of their songs and really liked them, but it wasn't until I saw them live that I gained the full appreciation that they deserve.  To really steal my heart you HAVE to be amazing live.  It is so disappointing to see someone live and they just can't hack it, but the New Politics do not fall in that category!  They have awesome stage presence and are totally engaging.  It is so nice to see passion in others and you can tell they love what they do.

I LOVED the venue.  It was the first time I had been to the Independent in San Francisco, but it will not be my last!  I love intimate type shows and the venue was just that.  So much fun, can't wait to see another show there!

The opening acts were REALLY good as well!  I had not heard of the two bands that opened, but I am always excited to hear new music.  I love being exposed to new things.  Sleeper Agent went on first.  They were a great opener.  Very energetic, songs were great and I could totally rock out to their stuff.  I really did the lead singers voice.  Next came Magic Man.  Again wildly energetic. They had a great vibe and the lead singer is totally swoon worthy so that didn't suck.

I took a ton of pictures (a lot of which didn't come out) and I think I got some really decent shots for an amateur with a camera phone.

Last night was a night to remember for a really long time and I am so glad I got to share it with my bestie Larry!  Amazing things tend to happen when I am with him, so I think I'll keep taking him to shows with me!

If you are able to catch any of these bands live DO IT!

SLEEPER AGENT:

I LOVE his guitar!!!!!!!!!!  I want it!!!!

Love Is NOT In The Air...

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and it is a big cheesy reminder that I am still single.  Worst holiday ever!

I have been thinking a lot lately... mostly about how tired I am of being single, but how hopeless I am at changing that.   Why am I hopeless?  Because I am beyond scared.  A legitimate, down right,  can't move kind of fear.

So I wrote a poem...

Yes, I am scared.
Petrified actually.
Yet, it's still hard not to want such things.
Especially when everyone around you has it.
They say stop looking.
Stop wanting it, but really?
How do you stop wanting it?
How do you stop looking?
I never thought I would be here.
Scared and lonely.
I just want someone to love me.
Someone to hold me for no reason.
Someone to sit with in complete silence,
And it not be awkward at all.
I don't think I am a needy person.
I don't need to be showered with flowers
Or grand gestures of love.
Just someone to accept my flaws...
And still want me anyway.
The problem is
You have to put yourself out there.
My fear is to great to do so.

365 New Days to Make My Dreams Come True…

Yep… it’s that time of year to share my New Year’s resolutions.  Hopefully I can achieve/make waves in my goals for this year and beyond.  I have some pretty tough resolutions this year…

Get at least one of the three tattoos that I want
See more concerts
Continue on my quest to loose 70lbs
Move out of Napa by Summer 2016
Get financially stable
Be less of a doormat
Be more open about my feelings
Stop being a scared little girl all the time (honestly this is the hardest one)
Focus on my blog more
While I am at it, focus on ME more

I’m thinking this is way more than I can chew, but I have to try.  I need to kick myself in the ass and get out of this song that is playing on repeat.  My goals sound really selfish, but those of you who know me, know that is the last thing that I am, and it bites me in the ass 95% of the time.  I still want to be the person someone can count on and the person that would do anything I can for other people, but I can’t keep doing it at my own expense.

My friend Micaela posted on Facebook yesterday her word for the year and its definition.  I thought that was a very good idea.  She chose strength.  My word for the year is..

Forward
toward or at a place, point, or time in advance; onward; ahead

… This year I move forward with my life.  I move past the things that have hurt me (just never forget them) and move toward what I want, what I dream, what my life is should to be.  Hey, I have 365 new days to make my dreams come true…
